“God gave us wealth, not that we should be hoarders but dispensers.” – Thomas Manton
It's giving rich. Not on the quintessential American definition of rich, which lately seems to focus solely on acquiring means and materialistic items.
But this rich is thick, and it vibrates on a different level.
This vibrant moment with my family is rich in history, rich in integrity, rich in positive energy, rich in compassion, and rich in love.
In Italy, while the Italian language and lifestyle exude love, the family is the epicenter of the culture.
Our time in this heavenly place, Lake Como, Italy, was everything our family needed.
Waking up to the serene mountains, slowing down to laugh and eat delicious meals, and breathing the crisp, clean air of the Lake reminds my family how "rich" we are.
On the day of our boat ride throughout Lake Como, I was excited but nervous, like any mom taking four babies under five years old on the Lake (Jamaar, 5, Journei, 4, Justice, 2, and Baby Jo, seven months). My husband, per usual, was fearless, and our time on that boat, cascading through the water felt like a dream. Almost like we were riding in the clouds; this is a core memory I will never forget.
The kids loved riding on a boat to Bellagio, the beautiful town perched at the end of a long peninsula that juts out into Lake Como. We docked in Bellagio to eat delicious gelato. They loved the adventure, and my heart felt full at every moment.
