The Unexpected
“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” -Henry David Thoreau
In full transparency, I didn't become what "many people" thought I would.
I am a multifaceted woman- a devoted wife, a phenomenal mother, a gritty entrepreneur, and a creative genius through and through.
What I am most proud of is that I operate with excellence and integrity. I thrive in my creative gifts, carve out my lane, and walk out God's purpose for my life.
Growing up, I envisioned myself working in the corporate world or Capitol Hill.
I have a complex mind, equipped to exceptionally strategize while being organized and hyper-focused on all the details.
After graduating from undergrad at Clemson University, I spent most of my time as an entrepreneur studying nonprofit organizations' inner workings and programming development, as well as teaching yoga.
I also supported my husband through his demanding, rewarding, highly stressful NFL career. I ended up not pursuing that corporate position. As of today, I have yet to return to school and instead focus full-time on building my brand, consulting, and developing our investment real estate portfolio. Most importantly, my number 1 job is uplifting and caring for my family.
For those pursuing non-traditional career paths, transitioning in life, figuring it out, pivoting, taking a sabbatical, or in a place of confusion about where you should be or what you should be doing, Remember...
Invest in yourself and trust in your ability to grow. What you do to better yourself today dictates who you will be tomorrow.
You don't have to answer to anyone; pursue what sets your soul on fire.
Believe in your gifts, vision, and the plan God reveals to you, which is not for everyone to know or understand.
Consistency and hard work create opportunities.
Sometimes, you have to abandon the familiar to progress.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Stay focused and keep grinding,
XO,
Dom 💋
