PEACE
We will never forget.
9/11 is a moment in time that has forever shaped the fabric of our history. Despite the horror and tragedy of 9/11, our country still aims to serve as a shelter of peace and a symbol of freedom, compassion, and justice.
I pray that the tragedy of 9/11 will motivate global political leaders to pursue peace throughout the world.
May we teach generations to come, the importance of acceptance and tolerance of those that are different, compassion and love, and to denounce bigotry and hatred of every form.
The Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is an injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
